This blog had been a little heavy lately, what with my parents and brother’s family almost dying in a fire and all, so let’s lighten it up a bit.
Have you seen Ratatouille? Andrea had a sleepover at a friend’s house a few weeks ago. Kevin and I found one little pub-type theater still showing it and took Joshua on a special kid date to watch it.
Yes, as all the reviews state, it is too long. But it’s good. The music is fantastic. I could be biased as I love all things French, even going so far as to minor in it. During high school, a picture of the Eiffel Tower graced my closet door. Occasionally my husband will flip through the manual of a new appliance/electronic device because he’s secure enough in his manhood to peruse the directions. I respond by trying to read them to him in French. I even eat French fries whenever I purchase fast food. Oh, yeah, hardcore.
We loved the show. Joshua came home inspired to act out the parts of the movie where Remy controls the new chef’s motions by pulling chunks of hair while hidden under the toque blanche, or chef’s hat. (If you click on that link you’ll learn fascinating facts like this: each pleat on the hat represents a different way to cook an egg.)
I think I smell a rat!
I think I can no longer read your blog as it causes me to lust. Well, maybe not lust. It causes me to covet. No, that’s not right either. Envy! Perhaps envy is the one. I don’t know–just some sort of sin. Is it at all fair that God showers some people with rich talents and others with barely a one?
You speak French now too? On my stars! You’re a fantastic writer, a math whiz, a purple belt in Taekwando, thin and beautiful, and now you speak fluent French. I just can’t handle it. Yeah, I think I must go on protest.
Plus … she has the most gorgeous hubby (coveting and envious), the two most adorable children (well, except when they have knives in their hands or rats on their heads), the totally coolest mum and pop (who she can actually stand to live with — happily!!), two very cool black goofy labs, a cool cat, and ….
… oh, and friends who absolutely adore her! ; )
Ahh … read it and weep, Christina. It’s all true.
P.S. Tammy, don’t worry, you’re pretty cool too.
Oh, come on, you guys…what about her knobby knees??!!
🙂
Debbie M.
Okay. Yes. She absolutely has knobby knees.
; )
You ladies just wait ’til tomorrow and see what I have to say about all this nonsense!
My hubby and kids love the movie Ratatouille! They watched it again last weekend (of course, we now own it on DVD). I haven’t seen it but I love how they’re all QUIET when the movie’s on… so that makes it a good flick in my book.
I haven’t seeen the movie yet, but I really love the dish ratatouille.
