How much doo-doo would they make?
Yesterday’s answer: 7
Today began potty-training in earnest. I didn’t start before for a multitude of reasons. I wanted to give the boys a chance to adjust to our home before inflicting a huge project on one of them. Kevin was on vacation until today and I didn’t think he wanted to be tied to the potty for a week or so. It’s messy. I don’t like pee on our carpets. Etc …
But DHS doesn’t pay out cost of care payments until the end of the month and we got these fellows on the 3rd of the month. How can we afford to use fifteen diapers a day? Because, of course, they only doo-doo in a clean one. Double the bottoms is not double the fun.
I’d rather do a load of laundry each night with hot water and tons of bleach than use diapers.
The older boy is so skinny I’m having trouble finding undies for him to wear. Don’t even get me started on the cost of Pull Ups; I did buy one pack of them for when we’re out and about town.
Happily, I stumbled onto a solution. I’m using onesies with the little snaps between the legs. It’s thin enough material he can tell if he’s wetting himself, there’s a cloth barrier so he can sit on the couch and other furniture, and it keeps the worst kind of accidents in place.
How many people are still reading this? I’m so sorry! But this is my life currently, so this is what I blog about. The really funny thing is that my next post will be highlighting the ACFW conference. I better start thinking like a professional!
If you have potty-training tips, please leave them in the comments. If you’re so far past this stage, you’re gagging at this post, forward my request on to someone that is at this point. My debit card would appreciate it.

Turn on the bath water and point them to the toliet over and over again. Works great for boys.
Hi, Christina! Bless you for this! That’s awesome! These boys will always wonder how they got potty trained! 🙂
Joshy isn’t there yet! But we go to babycenter.com for lots of info, so you might try there. Or just do a google search!
Have fun! Debbie M.
