To bring you this update. Some of you may have noticed that the forecasted blog posts are not appearing as quickly as I’d hoped to post them.
I’m willing to bet you won’t blame me when you hear why.
We have a new foster placement. Previously I’ve used the abbreviation FC#_ to show I’m talking about a foster child and the placement number. This little girl is FC#4. However, that moniker is too numerical for her. She’s an absolute sweetie. A delicate flower. An Angel, really. How about we call her that?
We picked Angel up from a specialized hospital unit, that’s how badly she was abused. The daily care for her wound is around an hour. The first time I saw the injury, I had to leave the room to keep from vomiting. I’m getting used to it now, but I can’t lose sight of the fact that no human should be capable of hurting a child so badly.
I’m not being specific about what happened at this time because I need to make sure she’ll be safe. There are also some legal things going on. Contact me through email if you want to know how she was hurt and I’ll share what’s going on.
Anyway, the conference posts take hours to put together with the tons of pictures and all my wordy explanations. The next post will be the Mall of America book signing. Then I’ll hit the ACFW Award Banquet. They each deserve their own post.
But–and there’s always a “but” somewhere–I’m going to be gone for almost a week on a hunting trip. I’m considering it a writer’s retreat and hope to come home at least 5,000 words deeper into Unafraid, the kidnapping book. You might not see any posts until the middle of next week, but please, PLEASE, do come back and check. I don’t want any of you fine readers to forget about me.
Christina –
Forget about you – no way!
Have a fabulous trip. Maybe that’s what I need to do to rack up some words on my WIP.
I’ll pray for Angel’s healing, both physically and emotionally.
Blessings,
Susan 🙂
Wow. my stomach is churning. I don’t want to know anymore about the abuse. I hope people won’t think horrible of me, but I’d like the death penalty used on all severe child abusers. Stuff like this makes me want Christ to return NOW, putting an end to Satan’s reign. Oh how I hate him!
May God give Angel manassa, so she remembers her pain and abuse no more.
I’m sorry to hear about Angel, but I’m glad she’ll be in a good home.
Have a good time on your trip!
