Hope all of you out there are enjoying a day of rest and relaxation! In honor of Labor Day, the next stop on the blog tour focuses on my labors, as in births of my kids, and how I handle being a mom AND a writer. Come check out Nikki Raichart’s post on Being Gratefully Grounded. She’s the ONLY non-writer blogger on the tour, so she offers a unique perspective.
Our pastor preached on rest this week. Interesting enough, the Lord had been talking to me about that all week. Coincidence? I think not. 🙂 I had read a verse in John days ago and it had put a whole new spin on the faith/works argument.
John 6:29 (NIV): Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” Our work is our faith; our faith is our work! The entire sermon I was itching to tell the pastor what God had shown me in the verse, when all of a sudden what verse should he quote but this very one!
I cracked up last night when reading another verse in John. I’ve staying up until 3 or 4 most mornings because I can get a lot of work done while the kids are in bed and the internet is faster. I’m preparing for the start of school in two day by getting to bed before … 2 AM. Baby steps, baby steps.
In John 9:4, I read, “As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” I guess I’m not running my business biblically, as night is when I work the best. 🙂
Really, daughter, you’ve GOT to start going to bed at a more decent hour!! You have amazed me with your ability to put in such long hours and not be in bad moods the next day. Let’s see how it goes with your next case of PMS, however!!
