How often do we wonder what others think of us? I’ve cultivated a better habit over the years of caring about maintaining my witness while not trying to please everyone. Now the book is out there, floating around from reader to reader. (And, yes, I would encourage you share your copy, BUT if the sharee likes it, urge them to buy a copy to pass on to someone else!) And I wonder what people think of it …
I had never given a second thought to this, but doing a blog tour means I get to read people’s impressions of me.
One such review of The Familiar Stranger went up today by Roseanna White. She mentions connecting over pregnancy stories. It’s so true! I believe I read the blog post when she announced her pregnancy and then I met her for the first time two years ago when she had the cutest little baby bump. It’s intriguing to have a mirror held up and hear how others view me in the Lord.
Remember my interview on Novel Journey? Well, Ane Mulligan wrote a short review of The Familiar Stranger for Novel Reviews. It earns their highest recommendation and a comparison to a FAMOUS author. Comments left there, as well as on Roseanna’s post, will all be entered in the drawing–which is fast approaching!
BUT the real blog tour stop for today is on Spire Reviews with Brenda Anderson. She makes the most amazing comparison to ANOTHER famous author as well: “In the tradition of–” Oh, I’m not going to give it away. Check it out for yourself!
What an awesome interview, Christina. Francine Rivers, wow! I’m looking forward to reading The Familiar Stranger.
I wonder what others think of me too. Just because our perception of ourself can be so different than what others see.
Congrats on the great reviews!
I love reading your blog.
Heather, I must say that while I love the comparison to Francine, I feel VERY unworthy of it. I met her once and she was amazing!
Jessica, thanks!
Allen, checked your blog out. Pretty cool. 🙂
