About a month ago, Darren mentioned that with my delicate frame and exquisite features–I might be rewording a bit ;)–a short hair do might look cute. I filed that away, revisiting it with each tangle I ripped from my scalp in the following days. Then my friend Tj’s daughter cut her beautiful long hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Andrea has done this twice already, so I had her measure my ponytail. Looked like it might be just long enough.
On Friday, Mom and I drove to the Redeemed Writer’s critique group, and as we chatted, she also threw her vote toward short hair. I called my wonderful stylist–also named Christina–after our critique session and twenty minutes later …
BUZZZZZ!
I am loving it! So excited that I braved the Big Hair Fear AND will be blessing someone with my donation of one full foot of hair.
My stylist always does a fantastic job. And you can’t beat Super Cuts prices! Anyone in the area who wants a great cut with a shampooing massage to dream about, visit the Cornelius location and ask for Christina. Oh, then be nice and tip her well. 🙂
Another thing I’m super excited about–can you tell I’m in a good mood?–is my first radio interview. Mark Zimmerman treated me so well when we taped the interview a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t even really remember what we discussed.
Listening back to the segment today, I couldn’t help but smile. Several people were praying that I would be able to adequately portray the message of the book … and I believe I did. Let me know what you think. If you’d like to put a link up on your blog or facebook or twitter, that would be wonderful!
I LOVE your new ‘do, Christina! It fits you perfectly! Great idea. 🙂
You are so brave, giving, and cute. Good job!
love it chica manica!
Hi Christina –
Looks fabulous!
I remember when I went from long hair to short. Too bad they didn’t have a place where you could donate your locks back then. I still wear my hair short.
Blessings,
Susan 🙂
You look hawt! I’m hanging onto my long hair for dear life. Honestly I don’t even think it looks good on me. *sigh*.
You look fantastic! I love it on you. I used to have my hair that short, but I never kept up with it so it just grew out on me. I think yours is fuller than mine. I think Darren was right. :o)
IT LOOKS GREAT!!!
I’ve donated to Locks of Love twice now. Such a worthy cause.
The pictures of the recipients on their website will make your day.
Christi
You all are so kind! Here’s a verse to thank you:
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. (Proverbs 16:24)
T. Anne, your hair looks amazing! Who are you kidding? 😉
Lee, I have really thin hair, but a lot of it. I do three layers of running a straightener along my hair, curling my wrist at the end to make it go under. Easy and, so far, effective!
Darling, adorable, cute AND trendy. I think it’s YOU!
Congrats on your radio interview, too. That is also important, but seems to be taking a backseat to the hairdo! LOL!
You hair looks awesome! So excited for your interview 🙂 God is doing some awesome things in your life my friend
Jeanette, I guess it is! lol Maybe I should have done two different posts.
Aww … Loren, thanks!
