I spent this morning in Portland being observed with my foster daughter by a psychiatrist, who will then rate our bonding. The findings will be used in court to determine what the best placement for “Angel” is.
That would be the LAW part of this post.
While at the park a few days ago for a writers’ thing, I heard my name being called. Turned around and saw an old friend–our eight-year olds went to preschool together–and she asked about the book. Being the amazing friend she is, she’d been keeping up by reading the infrequent, humorous Ashberry Lane Newsletter. (If you sign up, you just might win free autographed books for the life of my writing career!) So, like John Grisham’s humble starts, I sold a book from the back of my car. 🙂
That would be the BOOK part of this post.
My average bedtime over the last week or so works out to about 3 AM. I’ve put in at least 80 hours on work as well. While I love my children to pieces, I can’t wait for school to start and give us a schedule around which to build. “Angel” will be in preschool, so on the days I don’t sub, I’ll have 8:30-11:45 to myself!!
That would be the LIFE part of this post.
How appropriate, then, that Cara Putnam interviews me over at The Law, Books, and Life! I don’t believe you’ve yet to read the WORST ADVICE I have every been given. Remember to leave a comment, AGAIN, for a chance at your free copy.
EXTRA BONUS trivia: My next book’s protagonist is actually named after Cara, but she doesn’t know this yet. Who will be the first to post on her blog and tell her? 😀
