A Writer’s High!

WARNING: this post is going to jump around. If you have a heart condition or are pregnant, please remove your earrings and keep all hands inside the vehicle.

Best news first: Little S**** has been recovered! I don’t have all the details yet because they’re hard to get from India, but THANK YOU for praying. As I said on another blog who linked to my post, I doubted this would end well. Praise God that He’s not restricted by my doubts!

I’ve been spending vast quantities of time preparing for my first teaching conference, the first annual ACFW IDahope Writers Conference. It’s this weekend in Boise, if you’re wondering. Mom and I are teaching a Writing in Tandem class and I’m teaching a Five Best New Tips for Writers class. The power points–my first ever–are coming together nicely and all the judging of contest submissions is done.

THANK YOU to Tekeme Studios for an awesome blog design! They took all my bizarre answers to their questionnaire and fashioned this beautiful product. The picture is not from Ashberry Lane, though our trees look the same. It’s actually a picture of a parking at our nearby family camp, but the bottom was cropped off. (BTW, does it look okay on your screen? My friend, Susan, says the text is wrapping on the left side, but it looks fine on my end.) I know that George and Ashley will take care of any issues I have; they’re fabulous to work with. If you’re considering having any work done–work done on your blog or website, that is–then contact Tekeme.

I’ve added a Followers gadget, so make sure to add your smiling face if you drop by here often. Become a Posting with Purpose Peep! Or should I stop referring to my blog’s name since it’s not longer on my header? Hmm …

Those things are wonderful, wonderful things, but I have to admit that my current Writer’s High does not come from any of them at this moment, but the fact that my son’s second grade field trip to Click, Clack, Moo was canceled due to the freezing rain/snow storm we had this morning. It melted by the afternoon, but shut down the school buses. Because conditions didn’t worsen until the kids were already at school and Mom had taken “Angel” for her visit, the house was empty. Once my chaperoneship (?) was unneeded, I zoomed home and seized an unexpected day of work. My mind had been chewing on what I needed to do for more than a week, so every word or change smoothly flowed out onto the screen. I even ate lunch at the computer, managing to work this second edit through 138 manuscript pages!!

My cover!! It’s coming in the next post, though some of you may have already seen it on facebook. Stay tuned …

    Hi Christina –

Awesome news! Praise the Lord that child was found safe and sound.

You know purple is my favorite color! Love the blog.

It’s a delight when I get an unexpected gift of free time. Now wouldn’t that be a neat gift certificate for hubby and kids to give their wives – whether or not she’s a writer?

    Enjoy your day. 🙂

    Blessings,
    Susan

It’s good to know my peeps are behind me! As Mom so graciously pointed out to me, the tips are not new in the workshop. It’s the writer who’s supposed to be new. Just in case you thought I thought I was so brilliant to have come up with five tips no one else had ever thought of. 😉
