And what a party! The school took a field trip to see Charlotte’s Web and returned just before 2, which is when Mom and I took the snacks to her class. When the bell was about to ring, Andrea’s wonderful teacher worked out a system where, upon dismissal, no one could tell who was invited to the home party or not. Thanks, Ms. Erskine! 😉
I drove the van with 6 girls and Mom followed with 2 more plus Josh. Another girl got dropped off by her mother. Both games were themed around the Jungle Book 2: Pin the Tail on the Tiger and Lost in the Forest (you might end up having to eat worms if you’re lost for a great length of time–they pulled strings from a bag; some were decoy strings and some had worms tied to them. The one with the most worms won). Then, joy upon joy, they watched the movie in the theatre. The surgeon general recommends at least two movies a day now for the age group of 7-8, if you haven’t heard.
After the movie: crowns of sparkly hearts, red dots in the middle of their foreheads like Shanti from the movie, dinner, cupcakes, and opening presents.
See that picture at the top? See how fuzzy it is? Did you know that unless you zoom in to check with our digital camera that pictures will look that way on the computer right after looking terrific in the camera’s viewfinder? But it’s all we have of all of the wild girls having fun celebrating my eldest’s birth.
And that fuzzy one in the bottom right belongs to me. She had such fun at her first “big girl” party! And mommy survived letting her attend unaccompanied as well!
